DRAW LINES WHILE IN MOTION ON THE BUS, ON A TRAIN WHILE WALKING

I did started this page with drawing lines whilst on the bus but decided the tube map of the London Underground would be interesting. Stuck down magazine pages, illustrated the map inaccurately and writing some of the well known places in London.

DO SOME RUBBINGS WITH A PENCIL

This is another one of my ‘pages that went wrong, so I did it again‘ I originally shaded over my  plastic laser cuttings but that didn’t go so well 🙊 Then the idea of books with embossed fronts came to mind 😊 I found that I don’t have many books with an embossed title.

PRESS LEAVES AND OTHER FOUND THINGS

Probably one of my favourites I’ve done in this journal 😊 I started this page quite early on but it has taken me ages to fully finish it because it involved being bothered to pick leaves off the ground. The purple orchids were the last bits to finish this.

PRETEND YOU ARE DOODLING ON THE BACK OF AN ENVELOPE WHILE ON THE PHONE

Another one of my old pages. Colourful with black and white inspired Zentangle patterns.

COVER THIS PAGE WITH WHITE THINGS

This was a easy and simple page to do 😊 I mostly stuck down my plastic laser cuttings, which I did at Uni. I didn’t end up using any of these pieces for my projects for Uni, so now this was a good opportunity to make use of them.

If you have a Wreck This Journal, how did you wreck these pages? I’d love to know 🙂

Wreck This Journal Entries #2

This is part two of my Wreck This Journal pages. These entries were some of the first pages I did and also some of my favourite pages to complete; thats why it looks more neat than wrecked, which defeats the purpose. Need to do more wrecking! XD

TEAR STRIPS RIP IT UP!

This page was a lot of fun. I looked on Pinterest mostly for zentangle inspiration, as there is much ideas for inspiration! I went for colourful zentangles on the strips and on the left side black and white zentangle patterns 🙂

FILL THIS PAGE WITH CIRCLES

This is the first page I did in WTJ. I was inspired by this pattern I saw on Pinterest, which is similar to what I’ve done here. One would say that I haven’t worked outside the box but oh well XD

WRITE ONE WORD OVER AND OVER

It was hard to pick which word, as there are so many great words in the dictionary! But in the end I went with ‘Wanderlust’ because it reminds me of myself; I do have this desire to travel the world. This page took longer than expected T_T

PLACE STICKY THINGS HERE

This page was so much fun! When I was younger, I had this obsession with stickers, I have no idea why, I just loved them! The thing is that I’d never use them, I would just stick them in my sticker album or just leave it in the packet for it to look pretty XD This page was the opportunity for me to actually use my stickers! I still have a lot of stickers left over but glad that some of them went to great use. As you can see, I loved Winnie the Pooh! It looks very garnish with the colours 🙂 I will probably cover the whole of this journal with stickers!

COLLECT THE STAMPS OFF ALL YOUR MAIL

I found a envelope filled of Vietnamese stamps and it was a good idea to stick them on this page 🙂

Wreck This Journal Entries #1

I brought Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith over 2 years ago (I think). I only brought it because I burned out from my nightmarish fashion degree and I really wanted something to get me back into drawing. To begin with I did really enjoy starting Wreck This Journal but I only managed a couple of pages before I lost motivation to do more pages because I got busy with other things. I guess I prefer to do a serious drawing rather than doing Wreck This Journal pages. I’m hoping by posting 5 entries per post, it will motivate me to finish more pages and to finally complete it!

STAND HERE

I did stand on this page (in my slippers) but then thought ohh I’d like to draw it! So I drew brogues by Clarks and a Mulberry Alexa bag 😀

POUR, SPILL, DRIP, SPIT, FLING YOUR COFFEE HERE

I’m not really a coffee drinker, so I spilt English tea on it. Illustrated a tea of cup and some of my favourite books.

DRAW FAT LINES AND THIN

One of my favourite pages to draw 🙂 these patterns are called Zentangles and they are so relaxing and therapeutic and looks effective! Highly recommend drawing zentangles if you’ve got time to spare 😉

HANDPRINTS

I’ve got a confession to make: I redid this page. I know I know, it defeats the whole purpose of Wreck This Journal! But it just went a bit wrong. I am a perfectionist, so I couldn’t help myself O_O I originally painted a tree with finger prints.

THROW SOMETHING

When I saw the target, it just reminded me so much of Katniss from the Hunger Games! So I decided to illustrate Katniss with her bow and arrow shooting her target 🙂

I do recommend Wreck This Journal, even though it does take time (like reading). It is a really fun and original creative idea that lots of people have been inspired by. I think it brings out the creativity in everyone! When I saw it at Urban Outfitters, I thought it was a bit naff but that was until I actually saw all the amazing creations online. And most importantly, if your a perfectionist, then this book was designed for you 🙂

Alfie Deyes aka Pointless Blog on YouTube published a book called the Pointless Book which is very similar to Wreck This Journal, so I’m not sure where he was inspired that or its just one BIG coincidence.

Have you brought Wreck This Journal? And did you enjoy it?
